Supertramp - Breakfast in America
Released on March 29, 1979, #1 on the charts for 6 weeks and nominated for several Grammy awards, winning for Best Engineered Non-Classical and Best Album Package (an award given for art design), Breakfast in America was a huge success for Supertramp. This was their 6th album and includes the massive hits, The Logical Song, Goodbye Stranger and Take the Long Way Home. This album also includes my personal favorite Supertramp song, the album closer Child of Vision.
The art direction on this cover was by Mike Doud and Mick Haggerty. Actress Kate Murtagh (1920 - 2017) was the model for the cover art, as a waitress named “Lilly” and is also included in the back cover photo of the band taken at a diner called Bert’s Mad House, which was located just down the street from A&M Records in Los Angeles on La Brea Ave.
Black frame showing the cover and side 1 of the LP.
